Purpose of Rodeo: |

The primary purpose of SHRP 2 Project S-03 is to perform mandatory pre-qualification
for roadway data collection service providers interested in submitting proposals
for the follow-on Project S-04, “Acquisition of Roadway Information.” (See
"S-04 Information" page) In addition, the research
team will evaluate the state-of-the-practice
of automated roadway data collection equipment for collecting roadway data related
to safety analysis. The rodeo will
help to identify critical roadway feature characteristics and evaluate the ability
of vendors to collect the data at specified accuracy levels, and ultimately determine what are reasonable and technically possible accuracy levels.
